LMS Rebuilt Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 No. 46100 ‘Royal Scot’ was in charge of the The Railway Touring Company’s ‘The Royal Duchy’ from Taunton to Par and as far as Exeter St. Davids (where it ran out of coal!) on the return.

GWR HST 43002 ‘SIR KENNETH GRANGE’ & 43185 ‘GREAT WESTERN’ on the 1A94 15:50 Penzance to London Paddington at Par. Old Oak Common staff ‘playing trains’ saw the pair of heritage liveried HST power cars on the same set (after working different sets the day before) and also stopping at Par just as the passengers for ‘The Royal Duchy’ steam special were arriving back at the station!
